In December 2017, the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK recommended that GP’s stop providing homeopathy, claiming there was no evidence to support it. The British Homeopathic Association (BHA) challenged this in the High Court, but after a four-day hearing in May 2018, the judge dismissed BHA’s challenge. Now doctors have been told to stop prescribing homeopathy on the NHS. Simon Stevens, NHS Chief, welcomed the decision, stating, “There is no robust evidence to support homeopathy which is at best a placebo.” This follows years of anti-homeopathy propaganda by Pharma surrogates in the press and government. They waged a disinformation campaign which resulted in the closure or vitiation of all seven homeopathic hospitals in the UK.

That approach works when you’re dealing with people of good will who simply have a different point of view. But that was never the reality. Those who sought to bring down homeopathy already knew that it was a potent, safe and affordable healing method. That’s exactly why they wanted to destroy it. You don’t reason with pathological greed.
For its part, the medical community has attacked homeopathy without ever having bothered to explore it. They willingly accepted the lies, and thus became an accomplice and unwitting surrogate of Pharma. In 2010, the deputy chairman of the British Medical Association, called homeopathy “witchcraft”, and a year later the junior doctors of that organization voted to ban the teaching of homeopathy to trainee doctors.

The order to forbid homeopathy on the NHS was due to a combination of unscrupulous greed and willful ignorance. Those in government who betrayed the people’s trust for personal gain, should be held accountable. And the medical community bears a special responsibility. The eminent homeopath, Sir John Weir, expressed it well:
“I believe what prevents men from accepting the homeopathic principles is ignorance, but ignorance is criminal when human lives are at stake. No honest man faced with the facts of homeopathy can refuse to accept it.”

Another sentiment was expressed by Dr. Henry Wigand in 1849, when he chastised the allopaths for their blind opposition to homeopathy:
“Shame upon you, Gentlemen,—when you thus close your minds against, and refuse to investigate a new system of medicine, merely because it clashes with your favorite mode, notwithstanding it is presented to you by men of as gifted and cultivated minds and generous hearts, as ever graced any age of our world.”
