This is outrageous. I looked up Daffron Williams on Facebook. No posts from the man himself now. But I saw this one from "Far Right Watch Wales", whoever they are, which said the following (which I am posting here only for informational purposes, to try to understand the sentence given):
"A Welsh former soldier who posted a series of anti-Islamic messages on Facebook has been jailed. Daffron Williams, 41, of Tonypandy, Rhondda Cynon Taf, wrote: "Civil war is here. The only thing missing is bullets, that's the next step. They want us to be Islamic, that's why they are here." Two days after the stabbings in Southport, Williams posted a series of AI images, one showed a child dressed as a medieval knight carrying a sword next to a lion. The caption read "Time to wake up the lion to save our children's future". Another AI image depicted a man wearing what was described in court as "traditional Islamic clothing" with a large knife being held over his head. A third image depicted a group of men in traditional Islamic dress chasing a crying child in a Union flag. Williams pleaded guilty to stirring up racial hatred and was sentenced to two years in prison."
From what I read here, sadly this man, a veteran who fought in Afghanistan with PTSD so sending him to prison for any time at all let alone TWO YEARS seems completely wrong in the first place, appears to have some truth to his understanding, although thankfully civil war is not yet here in Britain. But I deeply fear for the future if things aren't changed for the better very soon now.
There is nothing racist in these posts that I can see. Firstly Islam is not a race, it is an ideology followed by various people of all and every ethnicity. Secondly, Islamic IDEOLOGY openly teaches hatred and bigotry towards all non-Muslims, also misogyny and antisemitism, and is totally incompatible with hard-won human rights and freedoms equally for everyone in Britain or in any other western nation. This frankly unacceptable hatred and bigotry can be read in the Quran and Hadith in black and white and anyone can easily look up appalling anti-"infidel" verses such as Quran 5:33, 8:12, 8:39, 9:5, 9:29 and sadly too many other deeply unpleasant commandments like them for themselves.
Commenting on this outrageous reality is all too necessary, surely for anyone who actually cares about freedom and human rights equally for everyone irrespective of race, gender, belief, sexual orientation or any other differences. Aren't these supposed to be "British values", Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke?!!
And finally the comments, certainly the ones I am now aware of, fall WELL WITHIN the boundaries of free speech under the US First Amendment, which we badly need an equivalent of in the UK. One wonders why this unfortunate man was persuaded to plead guilty in the first place.
Am I missing something?!!!
