Izquierda Unida (IU) ha registrado en el Congreso una petición de comparecencia de la ministra de Sanidad, Dolors Montserrat, para que explique en sede parlamentaria la regulación existente en España en materia de productos y medicamentos homeopáticos, así como la aplicación de la directiva europea de 2001 sobre estos productos.
La portavoz parlamentaria de IU en materia de Sanidad, Eva García Sempere, ha denunciado la falta de información acerca de la legislación referente a estas sustancias, que, según ha señalado, "no sólo no demuestran una acción eficaz contra las enfermedades", sino que "en ocasiones sustituyen a tratamientos médicos necesarios que pueden llegar a resultar vitales".
Esta petición de comparecencia surge en la misma semana en la que se ha confirmado que el proyecto de orden para un registro de medicamentos homepáticos se tratará en la Comisión Delegada del Consejo Interterritorial. Como avanzara Redacción Médica hace unas semanas, el Ministerio de Sanidad ha planteado tratar este documento en el encuentro que va a celebrar el próximo 24 de abril con las comunidades autónomas.
Hay que recordar que actualmente unos 19.000 medicamentos homeopáticos se comercializan al amparo de un decreto de 1994, a pesar de que hace más de 10 años que la Ley de Garantías de Medicamentos de Uso Humano dictaminó que esta pseudoterapia tenía que adaptarse a esta ya añeja legislación aprobada hace más de 10 años.
Mandato
El citado proyecto de orden recoge el mandato de la Ley de Garantías, dando un plazo de tres meses a los titulares de comercialización para registrarse y adecuarse a las condiciones que dicta esta legislación para medicamentos homeopáticos.
Como ya informó Redacción Médica, ya no hay ningún fármaco basado en esta pseudociencia registrado por la Agencia Española de Medicamentos (Aemps) desde noviembre del año pasado. O al menos así será hasta que se ponga en marcha el nuevo registro.
