The definitions of /doctors/ and /drugs/ have been changed. Arizona, for example, has redefined "physicians" to include naturopaths, homeopaths and osteopaths and allowed them to practice "medicine" and to prescribe. Sadly, MDs and the Medical Board has done nothing to stop this, giving legitimacy to these alternative practitioners in the eyes of the public.

It is illegal for any medical doctor to write prescriptions for schedule 1 controlled substances. So, in Arizona, naturopaths are the primary "doctors" writing "certifications" for pot. The bulk of these pot-certifying naturopaths have a history of other illegal activities. Several of the top executives of the naturopathic medical board have been indicted on felonies for illegal drug operations, operating criminal syndicates involving fraud, forgery, money laundering and guns. The vast majority of the public thinks these pot /certifications/ are /prescriptions/.
