No tengan miedo de correr riesgos yendo a los pobres y los nuevos sujetos emergentes en el Continente...
En un gesto sin precedentes, el Papa Francisco recibió y dialogó durante una hora con la directiva de la Confederación Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Religiosas y Religiosos (CLAR). Conversaron ubicados en círculo, entre iguales, como era en las primeras Comunidades fundadas por Jesús...
En un ambiente de confianza y sencillez, Francisco instó a los líderes de la CLAR a que no tengan miedo de continuar llevando su misión a los límites y las fronteras... "¡Coraje! ¡Avanzad para nuevos horizontes! No tengan miedo de correr riesgos yendo a los pobres y los nuevos sujetos emergentes en el continente", señaló el Papa Bergoglio, quien al final del encuentro agradeció enfáticamente a la vida religiosa ser "señal y testimonio del Evangelio" en muchos lugares de América Latina y Caribe.

Expliquen lo que tengan que explicar, pero sigan adelante… Abran puertas, hagan algo ahí donde la vida clama. Prefiero una Iglesia que se equivoca por hacer algo que una que se enferma por quedarse encerrada …
· (sobre su elección) No perdí la paz en ningún momento, ¿saben? Y eso no es mío, yo soy más de preocuparme, de ponerme nervioso… Pero no perdí la paz en ningún momento. Eso me confirma que esto es de Dios…
· (al reflejarle la esperanza que nos han traído sus gestos de este tiempo, hace referencia a haberse quedado a vivir en Santa Marta) …estos gestos… no han venido de mí. No se me han ocurrido a mí. No es que yo trajera un plan, ni que me haya hecho uno en cuanto me eligieron. Lo hago porque sentí que era lo que el Señor quería. Pero estos gestos no son míos, hay Otro aquí… eso me da confianza…
Yo venía con la ropa justa, la lavaba en la noche, y de repente esto… ¡Si yo no tenía ninguna posibilidad! En las apuestas de Londres estaba en el lugar 44, fíjense ustedes, ¡el que apostó por mí ganó muchísimo, claro…! Esto no viene de mí…
· Hay que dar vuelta la tortilla. No es noticia que en Ottaviano muera un anciano de frío en la noche, o que haya tantos niños sin educación, o con hambre, pienso en la Argentina… En cambio, las principales bolsas del mundo suben o bajan 3 puntos y eso es un acontecimiento mundial. ¡hay que darlo vuelta! No puede ser. Las computadoras no están hechas a imagen y semejanza de Dios; son un instrumento, sí, pero no más. El dinero no es imagen y semejanza de Dios. Sólo la persona es imagen y semejanza de Dios. Hay que darlo vuelta. Ese es el evangelio.
· Hay que ir a las causas, a las raíces. El aborto es malo, pero es que eso está claro. Pero qué hay detrás de aprobar esa ley, qué intereses están detrás… son a veces las condiciones que ponen los grandes grupos para apoyar con dinero, ¿saben ustedes? Hay que ir a las causas, no nos podemos quedar sólo en los síntomas. No tengan miedo de denunciar… lo van a pasar mal, van a tener problemas, pero no tengan miedo de denunciar, esa es la profecía de la vida religiosa…
· Yo les comparto dos preocupaciones. Una es una corriente pelagiana que hay en la Iglesia en este momento. Hay ciertos grupos restauracionistas. Yo conozco algunos, me tocó recibirlos en Buenos Aires. ¡Y uno siente que es como volver 60 años atrás! Antes del Concilio… Uno se siente en 1940… Una anécdota, sólo para ilustrar, no es para reírse, yo la tomé con respeto, pero me preocupa; cuando me eligieron, recibí una carta de uno de estos grupos, y me decían; “Santidad, le ofrecemos este tesoro espiritual; 3.525 rosarios”. Por qué no dicen rezamos por usted, pedimos… pero esto de llevar las cuentas… Y estos grupos vuelven a prácticas y a disciplinas que yo viví –ustedes no, porque ninguno es viejo– a disciplinas, a cosas que en ese momento se vivían, pero no ahora, hoy ya no son…
La segunda es por una corriente gnóstica. Esos panteísmos… Las dos son corrientes de elite, pero ésta es de una elite más formada… Supe de una superiora general que alentaba a las hermanas de su congregación a no rezar en la mañana, sino a darse un baño espiritual en el cosmos, cosas así… ¡Me preocupan porque se saltan la encarnación! Y el Hijo de Dios se hizo carne nuestra, el Verbo se hizo carne, y en América Latina tenemos carne para tirar al techo! Qué pasa con los pobres, los dolores, ésa es nuestra carne…
El evangelio no es la regla antigua, ni tampoco este panteísmo. Si mirás a las periferias; los indigentes… ¡los drogados! La trata de personas… Ese es el evangelio. Los pobres son el evangelio...
· (al reflejarle lo difícil de hacerse cargo de la Curia romana, y de la comisión de cardenales que lo apoyará, etc.) Y, sí… es difícil. En la curia hay gente santa, de verdad, hay gente santa. Pero también hay una corriente de corrupción, también la hay, es verdad… Se habla del “lobby gay”, y es verdad, está ahí… hay que ver qué podemos hacer…
La reforma de la Curia romana es algo que pedimos casi todos los cardenales en las congregaciones previas al Cónclave. Yo también la pedí. La reforma no la puedo hacer yo, estos temas de gestión… Yo soy muy desorganizado, nunca he sido bueno en esto. Pero los cardenales de la comisión la van a llevar adelante. Ahí está Rodríguez Maradiaga, que es latinoamericano, que lleva la batuta, está Errázuriz, son muy ordenados. El de Munich también es muy ordenado. Ellos la llevarán adelante.

· Aparecida no terminó. Aparecida no es solo un documento. Fue un acontecimiento.
Aparecida fue algo distinto. Partiendo porque no tuvo documento de trabajo. Tuvo aportes, pero no un documento. Y al terminar tampoco tenía un documento, si el día anterior a terminar teníamos 2.300 “modos”… Aparecida envío a la misión continental. Ahí termina Aparecida, en el impulso a la misión.
Lo que tuvo Aparecida de especial es que no se celebró ni en un hotel, ni en una casa de retiros… se celebró en un Santuario mariano. En la semana celebrábamos la eucaristía y había unas 250 personas, porque era día normal de trabajo. Pero los fines de semana eso estaba lleno…! El pueblo de Dios acompañaba a los Obispos, pidiendo el Espíritu Santo…
Yo veía –lo nombro a él porque lo veo más estirado, más así, es bueno, pero es así– veía al prefecto, a João, que salía con su mitra, y la gente se acercaba, y le acercaban a los niños, y él saludaba, y los abrazaba así… Ese mismo obispo después votaba. ¡No puede haber votado igual que si hubiera estado en un hotel!
Teníamos las salas de reuniones debajo del Santuario. Así que la música de fondo eran los cantos, las celebraciones en el Santuario… Eso dio algo muy especial.
· Hay algo que me preocupa, aunque no sé cómo leerlo. Hay congregaciones religiosas, grupos muy, muy pequeños, unas pocas personas, gente muy mayor… No tienen vocaciones, qué sé yo, el Espíritu Santo no quiere que sigan, quizá han cumplido ya su misión en la Iglesia, no sé… Pero ahí están, aferradas a sus edificios, aferradas al dinero… Yo no sé por qué pasa esto, no sé cómo leerlo. Pero les pido que se preocupen de esos grupos… El manejo del dinero… es algo que necesita ser reflexionado.
· Aprovechen este momento que vivimos en la Congregación para la Vida Consagrada… Es un momento de sol… Aprovechen. El Prefecto es bueno. ¡Y el Secretario, que fue “lobbyado” por ustedes! No, en realidad, siendo el presidente de la USG, ¡lo lógico era que fuera él! Qué mejor…
· Pongan todo su empeño en el diálogo con los Obispos. Con el CELAM, con las conferencias nacionales… Yo sé que hay algunos que tienen otra idea de la comunión, pero… Hablen, conversen con ellos, díganles…
