So far in 2023, Hindawi has retracted over 8,000 articles
« on: December 21, 2023, 12:14:36 PM »

In looking at my weekly "what's new" from National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) on the subjects of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, I noticed that four articles on acupuncture had been retracted by the journal Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine. For example:
https://www.hindawi.com/journals/cmmm/2023/9860965/

"This article has been retracted by Hindawi, as publisher, following an investigation undertaken by the publisher [1]. This investigation has uncovered evidence of systematic manipulation of the publication and peer-review process. We cannot, therefore, vouch for the reliability or integrity of this article."

I looked to see if there was anything about this on Retraction Watch, and found this article:

https://retractionwatch.com/2023/12/19/hindawi-reveals-process-for-retracting-more-than-8000-paper-mill-articles/

"So far in 2023, Hindawi has retracted over 8,000 articles<https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-03974-8> – more than we’ve ever seen in a single year from all publishers combined. And Hindawi is not done cleaning up from paper mills’ infiltration of its special issues, according to a new report from its parent company, Wiley."
