Ryan N. Cole, M.D., charged for COVID-related misconductThe State of Washington’s Medical Commission has charged pathologist Ryan N. Cole, M.D. with unprofessional conduct, including: (a) commission of any act involving moral turpitude, dishonesty, or corruption relating to his profession; (b) incompetence, negligence, or malpractice that results in injury to a patient or that creates an unreasonable risk that a patient may be harmed; (c) misrepresentation or fraud; and (d) interference with an investigation or disciplinary proceeding. According to the Statement of Charges:

negligently treated four patients by prescribing medications that are not indicated for COVID-19,
failing to properly document adequate justification for the treatment in the medical record,
failing to take a history or perform a physical examination, and
failing to obtain appropriate informed consent
provided inadequate opportunity for follow-up care,
treated patients beyond his competency level, and
did not advise patients about standard treatment guidelines and preventative measures
Cole has until January 30 to respond to the charges.

Phony “specialist” in stem-cell therapy gets 202-year prison sentenceJimmy Lee Taylor, 71, of Delray Beach, Florida, has been sentenced in the Houston County (Georgia) Superior Court to 202 years in prison following his conviction on 44 counts of elder abuse and 23 counts of practicing medicine without a license. An investigation of Taylor began in April 2018 when one of his victims, Annette Johnson, contacted the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. Taylor was found to have:
falsely represented himself to Johnson as a specialist in “stem-cell therapy”
administered to Johnson every two weeks at her home what she believed to be “stem-cell therapy” in exchange for a cash payment
traveled all over the United States to do similar things while receiving cash payments from victims
had victims in California, Illinois, Alabama, and Florida
been in possession at his home in Effingham County of drugs and medical supplies believed to be from Mexico

Self-described naturopath charged in deaths of customers.Eric Gandon, 58, who described himself as a naturopath, has been formally charged in a Tours, France, court with manslaughter, abuse of power, endangering the lives of others and falsely practicing as a doctor and pharmacist from July 2020 until January 2023. Gandon allegedly offered training courses for “several hundred or even thousands of euros” that consisted of “not eating solid food for one to several weeks, without any medical follow-up being provided or planned.” Gandon’s victims included:
a 44-year-old woman who died during a course in 2021 that had been organized in a chateau in Noyant-de-Touraine (Indre-et-Loire)
a man in his sixties who was suffering from terminal cancer who died in 2020, one month after participating in a course organized in the Vendée region in Western France.
a young woman who died in 2022 and had attended training courses the previous year while she was suffering from liver cancer and was in the process of discontinuing treatment
Gandon claims on his website:
to have treated 4,000 people during the past 10 years

Gandon’s 25-year-old son, who participated in the training courses and the promotion of his father's methods via a YouTube channel, has also been charged with illegally practicing as a doctor and pharmacist. He was placed under judicial supervision with a ban on any activity related to fasting and naturopathy. He claims on a YouTube channel that patients who stop eating are able to “feed on light.”
