'Three Aboriginal girls, Molly Craig (14yo), her sister Daisy (10yo) and their cousin Gracie (9yo), in 1931, forcibly removed from their families in the remote Pilbara community of Jigalong and transported to Moore River Native Settlement, north of Perth, escaped the next day and used the rabbit-proof fence — constructed between 1901 and 1907 to keep pests out of pastoral areas — to find their way home.' Three little children on a 1600km journey.
Daisy's daugher Doris Pilkington wrote a book about the daring flight: "Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence".
Doris died on 10.4.2014:

Some people make fun of the walk, and now one more did it, and walked all the way long the 1600 km. Here she is, in a photo with Daisy:

This is Daisy at the awesome age of 96! Remarkably long-lived they are. Tough girls make their way.
