'Mama, this is so hard,' says Russian soldier in final text home

Final texts reportedly sent by a Russian soldier to his mother right before he died show his mom was surprised to learn he was in Ukraine — and that he was terrified to be there.
The messages were read aloud Monday at a special session of the United Nations by Ukrainian Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya.
“How are you doing? Why has it been so long since you responded? Are you really in training exercises?” the soldier’s mother asked.
“Mama, I am no longer in Crimea. I’m not in training sessions,” he responded.
The soldier’s mother then asked where his father could send a package.
“Mama, I’m in Ukraine.” The soldier replied. “There is a real war raging here. I’m afraid. We are bombing all of the cities together, even targeting civilians. We were told that they would welcome us, and they are falling under our armored vehicles, throwing themselves under the wheels and not allowing us to pass. They call us ‘fascists.’
“Mama, this is so hard.”
Kyslytsya said the soldier sent the messages “several moments before he was killed.”
